Introduction
This recruitment is limited to current contractual and
permanent employees of the Maryland State Police. This will include all employees, permanent
and contractual as well as temporary.
This is a Management
Service position for the Deputy Director, Finance Division Maryland State Police and serves at the pleasure of the
Appointing Authority.
It is important that all experience be fully documented.

POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university.
Experience: Three years of supervisory or managerial
experience in financial services.
NOTE: Experience working in financial services, in a
supervisory or managerial capacity, may be substituted on a year-for -year
basis for the required education
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with Financial Management Information
System (FMIS),to include R*STARS, ADPICS and View Direct.
2. Experience working with the State's SPS System,
specifically Workday.
3. Knowledge of the State of Maryland's financial operations
and procedures.
4. The ability to develop, implement, and manage new or
revised fiscal policies, procedures, and standards.
5. Proficient in Microsoft applications.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this
classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor
vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor
vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with
Section 2-204(b)(6) of the Public Safety Article, candidates for positions in
this position will be subject to an initial drug screening and a complete
criminal background investigation before
permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds for
rejection of the candidate.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process for this recruitment will involve a
review of each application. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will
be placed on an eligible list in the BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED or
QUALIFIED category and remain eligible for consideration for at least one year
from the date of examination. The list will be used by the hiring manager to
select the individual to fill the vacancy.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your
education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.
You may be required to complete a qualifications supplement, or the rating may
be based on your application. Report all experience and education that is
related to this position. Applicants may be given a physical examination and
will be subject to an interview, background investigation, polygraph
examination and substance abuse testing.
