Main Purpose of Job

This position procures equipment, services and supplies through competitive or negotiated procurement processes. This position also prepares and maintains a variety of administrative records and reports. This position will also ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Furthermore, this position locates and determines the source of supply for a variety of materials, analyzes bid documents, and literature submitted by bidders to evaluate for compliance within an assigned commodity group. In addition, this position will maintain small procurement delegated authority and will also coordinate the procurement of goods and services over the facility’s delegation in coordination with the applicable State procurement authority (i.e., Office of Contract Management and Procurement, Maryland Department of Health, Maryland Department of General Services, Maryland Department of Information Technology, etc.).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment.

Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel and Access
  • Intermediate experience with FMIS, ADPICS, R*STARS or similar accounting system
  • Two years experience with procurement
