LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Reviews all complaint documents to assess their legal validity
- Handles written correspondence on matters related to complaints, legal issues, and regulations as necessary
- Communicates with all parties, including walk-in clients and phone inquires, providing information about eh complaint process or status
- Serves as an administrative assistant to the investigators, providing support
- The paralegal identifies specific legal violations and provides a detailed written explanation to guide the investigation process
- Answer questions related to the laws, regulations and policies governing the licensing and regulation of complaints
- Preparing and sending cases to Office of Administrative Hearing (OAH)
- Preparing statistical reports
- Provide clerical, data entry services, mail processing and assistance to the investigative complaint unit
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the
following. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding
the qualification(s).
Experience with AS400
Experience interpreting and enforcing the laws of Maryland
Experience providing secretarial support
Experience using Microsoft Office program, Excel and Word
Experience with Customer Service
Ability to type correspondence and create forms and spreadsheets
