Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this
position is to assign, organize, and coordinate all aspects of The Military
Departments maintenance program for the forty facilities of The Military
Department. This includes approximately 344 buildings, over 5000 acres, four
Military Training Areas and one operational Airfield.
The Parkville Enclave
Manager will oversee the administration of department policy and will oversee/coordinate
routine and daily agency operations. The position will report to Deputy
Director of Operations. The selected incumbent will be responsible for
planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the MMD policies,
directives, and procedures. The position will lead, review, and prepare crews
that renew, sustain, and maintain all MMD facilities statewide, including
plumbing, electrical, boilers, AC, and grounds.
POSITION DUTIES
Including
but not limited to:
· Maintain the facility air conditioning, heating, sanitary,
electrical and structural requirements as projected or requested.
· Maintain a preventive maintenance program for a wide variety of
buildings and mechanical equipment of different manufactures, models, and ages.
· Develop and revise procedures for various work assignments.
· Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing
codes and regulations.
· Utilize the E-maintenance system to maintain ticket updates and
closures.
· Develop and implement programs for employee cross training and
the training of new employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* At least one (1) year of experience
supervising employees.
* Experience utilizing an E-maintenance system
to track and update work assignments.
* Experience repairing/maintaining heat, air
conditioning, sanitary, electrical and structural projects.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
This recruitment is limited to current Maryland Military Department employees.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· This position will require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access military facilities within the state of Maryland. Being able to access these facilities is a condition of employment for this position.
· This position will require the ability to pass a Federal background check in addition to a State background to access the Federal computer systems by being issued a CAC card. The ability to obtain and maintain this access to CAC card is a condition of employment for this position.
