Main Purpose of Job

To provide assistance to internal/external customers in regards to the Tax Credit Program's laws, rules, regulations, operations and procedures. This position also provides administrative assistance to the Tax Credit Audit Section, Program Manager and Deputy Program Managers.

POSITION DUTIES

Conducts monthly audits of the Verification/Recapture Reports for Tax Credit reimbursements across 24 jurisdictions.

Reviews, processes, and ensures timely completion of the monthly Aging Report within established deadlines, guaranteeing prompt payments.

Provides administrative support to the Tax Credits Audit Section, Deputy Program Managers, and Program Manager, including drafting correspondence and creating documents or spreadsheets.

Assists inbound callers by providing information on Tax Credit Program laws, rules, regulations, operations, and procedures. Uses program knowledge to guide applicants in preparing tax credit applications.

Performs additional duties as assigned, such as participating in management-provided training, monitoring and responding to internal/external emails, supporting other teams as needed, and carrying out special quality control projects assigned by management.

Adheres to the Department’s Customer Service Policy requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications will be given priority. Please ensure that your application clearly and specifically highlights these qualifications.

Proven experience in interacting with the public through telephone, email, and in-person communication.

Proficiency in using computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office, as well as entering data into database systems.

Background in providing customer service support through email correspondence, handling incoming calls, and performing clerical tasks.

Experience with analyzing and interpreting data in order to apply rules, regulations and standards in accordance with laws.

Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must be willing to work in Baltimore City.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard on a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
