LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Monitor DHS contracts by managing documentation receiving, tracking, and ensuring timely submission per contract requirements.
- Coordinate with contract monitors and vendors, review documents for accuracy, and maintain organized records.
- Perform data analysis by collecting and organizing relevant data from systems like FMIS, ANSWERS, and other DHS databases.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Small & Minority Business in advancing DHS’s socioeconomic programs—Minority Business Enterprise, Small Business Reserve, and Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise.
- Coordinate statewide outreach with local Departments of Social Services to assess procurement needs and partners with statewide resource organizations to enhance DHS visibility.
- Assist with DHS outreach events by representing the agency to state and external partners, as well as the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- One year of experience working for a government agency (State, Federal, or Local) procurement environment.
- One year of experience tracking contract procurement data or preparing procurement statistical data reports.
- One year experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders including both internal and external.
