Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Supports, supervises, monitors, and evaluates the work of the Human Service Specialist IV, Work Participation Specialist and Family Investment Work Program case workers using State and County performance evaluation guidelines and procedures.
- Initiates and maintains open and effective communication with subordinate staff, with other DSS supervisors, the Program Integrity Administrator, the FIA Assistant Director, and with external customers and partner agencies to convey and collect information, to gain cooperation, and to achieve consistency in operations and interpretations of policies and procedures, by being accessible, seeking staff recommendations and feedback, and presenting information/instructions clearly.
- Motivates, influences, and guides Work Program staff towards goal accomplishment to ensure that their work results in the provision of high-quality services that are in compliance with federal, state, and local policies and procedures, by using the team approach, demonstrating good decision making and problem-solving skills, and fostering an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
- Completes and submits assignments to the Program Integrity Administrator and the FIA Assistant Director on a timely basis according to procedure and/or due date, makes recommendations to improve system efficiency and operations, and assists in drafting Standard Operating Procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE: Eight years of experience, four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations and an additional four years of professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
NOTES:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 credit hours per year for up to six years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- One year of experience using Google Suite applications, WORKS (Work Opportunity Record Keeping System), and Eligibility Enrollment Systems.
- One year of experience using TANF/Temporary Assistance for Needed Facilities with Children and/or SNAP E&T (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training).
- One year of experience preparing detailed reports, analyzing data and monitoring program compliance.
