The Comptroller’s General Accounting Division is looking for a Fiscal Accounts Technician II to join our Vendor Services Team.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detailed oriented, and intellectually curious. Most importantly, they will be a collaborator and partner who will help to support the General Accounting Division. In its capacity as a control agency, the General Accounting Division of the State of Maryland Comptroller's Office provides accounting and fiscal support services to state agencies and the public and assists the State Comptroller in meeting her Constitutional responsibilities. The primary purpose of this role is the maintenance and monitoring of the State Accounting System (R*STARS) vendor table. Specifically, this position primarily processes vendor ACH registration and change requests however other requests for vendor table changes are supported. This position requires calling vendors and grantees and participating in the call center.
PLEASE NOTE: Telework eligible after training period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
NOTES:
Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
