A Fiscal Accounts Technician I/II is the intermediate level of work reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments. The position will be analyzing, processing and reporting accounts receivable and payable to provide support to the accountants and Fiscal management in these areas, including, but not limited to, maintaining the accounts receivable database and reviewing, calculating, verifying, recording and reconciling accounts payable.

POSITION DUTIES
This role will assist the General Accounting Division, and other agencies that oversee and control Agency transactions.
*Prepare reports from data in FMIS, FOCUS downloads, and other sources to assist Fiscal management in reviewing, reporting, and forecasting financial activity.
* Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
* Maintain the Accounts Receivables Database by recording Cash Receipt transactions, researching deposits, and making necessary adjustments.
*Electronically prepare and mail monthly Account Statements, Late Notices, and past-due notices.
*Monitor the aging of accounts and initiate transfers to the Central Collection Unit as needed.
*Provide timely responses to client emails or letters of correspondence, ensuring excellent customer service.
*Lead contact for transcript cost/court reporters and employee expense reports.
*Verify, record, and prepare invoices in the Advanced Purchasing Inventory Control System (ADPICS).
*Post journal entries into the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) to ensure accurate financial records.
*Perform periodic reconciliations of Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable.
*Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Fiscal Accounts Technician I:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Experience: Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
Notes:1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
Fiscal Accounts Technician II:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.

1. Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be admitted to the examination for this classification. Successful candidates will be ranked as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, OR QUALIFIED and placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
