Introduction

Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.

Main Purpose of Job

Maryland Public Television (MPT) is looking for a competent Contractual Account Representative to be responsible for the overall representation of the Maryland State Ad Agency, a division of MPT, to prospective and current clients including capabilities presentations, overseeing the agreement process, explaining how parties work together, building project budgets, underscoring value, keeping a watchful eye over deliverables, overseeing reporting and ensuring repeat business through client servicing activities. Additional responsibilities include developing market goals, strategies, and tactics including organizing a trade show and following up on leads.

POSITION DUTIES

Set achievable goals and develop strategies and tactics to ensure goals are met. Plan and execute client presentations and client meetings. Translate action items into interagency agreements Distribute agreements, track the approval process; organize, maintain, and present agreement and task orders to clients. Provide final agreement reporting to include financial tracking and fiscal year planning tools in coordination with the accounting / finance department. Support all MAA functions and unit personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, advertising or another related field.
Experience:   Two years of experience in marketing and business. 
Note: Candidates may substitute professional marketing, business, advertising experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).
· Skilled in a variety of advertising methods, including digital, print and social media. 
· Knowledge of marketing-related business practices, including advertising, market research, technology and budgeting. 
· Experience or familiar with planning successful product launches and events. 
· Effective communication skills and adaptable communication style for interacting with team members, upper management and clients.
 · Time management and organization skills in order to plan and execute both large and small marketing projects and initiatives.
 · Leadership skills to motivate team members and manage conflicts.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills for coming up with ideas to increase demand for products and services.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
