Introduction
Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a
public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of
Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania,
Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster.
Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting
Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV
programs and digital content.

Main Purpose of Job
To
provide marketing support to the MPT National Sales Team. Activities include
pricing, creation of collateral material, spot production/supervision, creative
guidance to the client as well as contracting and renewals. Assists sales team with client research as
required. Provides client service and benefits
activation to existing national clients, and distribution partners such as
cable network clients, regarding requests, questions, concerns and problem
resolution.
This
is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing
Authority.
POSITION DUTIES
Maintain, grow, and build rapport with national and
underwriting and cable clients which includes sales support, contract
renewal, benefit activation and up-selling
Contact new sponsors and renewals to verify terms and set a
plan for terms of agreement, content of on-air messages, spot productions and
integration
Communicate sponsor benefits and respond to clients’
requests
Collaborate on the development of cross-promotional
materials
Assist the COO of MPT with sponsor benefits, contract
renewals, data compilation and reporting, and billing or payment issues
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: An Associate's degree or 60 credit hours
from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two (2) years of client services
experience that includes sales and/or marketing administration.
Note:
Candidates may substitute four (4) years
of experience that includes sales and/or
marketing administration for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the
following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific

Experience in television, radio or with an advertising
agency
Experience working with in Microsoft Office software
Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple projects
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external
parties in a courteous and efficient manner
Ability to interpret audience profile summaries and
communicate these audience summaries to sales team and clients a plus
Background working in fast paced and multi-tasking
environment
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be
assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees
assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s
license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require
occasional local, regional or national travel.
