Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to administer the statutory mandates of the Board of Social Work Examiners established under Title 19-201, Health Occupations, Annotated Code of Maryland. To develop, evaluate and implement administrative procedures to ensure that the Board fulfills its mandated responsibilities. The Board's statutory responsibilities include licensure, disciplinary functions, fiduciary, policy and regulation, standards of practice and public information functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of experience of high-level professional experience, including 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in broad fiscal management, compliance tracking, legislative and regulatory processes, information technology savvy and high level interrelationship skills with stakeholders.

A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of administrative management work experience. A Doctorate will substitute for two years of administrative management work experience. Additional administrative management experience may be substituted year-to-year up to four years of the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable candidates should possess the following:
  • Experience working with the public with a commitment to quality customer service; and, 
  • Administrative experience in either social work or human service settings.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
