Main Purpose of Job

A Food Service Worker is the full performance level of work in food service operations in a dietary department of a State facility, hospital or residential institution. Employees in this classification are responsible for the production and serving of meals in accordance with prescribed procedures and applicable health and sanitation regulations and standards. Employees in this classification do not supervise other positions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  None.

Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The assessment will be a rating of your application based on your education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position. Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. Please report all related experience and education. Applicants who meet the Minimum Qualifications will be placed on the eligible list categorized as Qualified, Better Qualified, or Best Qualified. Candidates shall be certified to the eligible list for a period of one year. This list will be used by the DJS hiring agency to select employees. If you have completed education outside the US, you will need to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service.
