POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this job is the responsibility for all aspects of the Payroll Department for the agency, while making independent decisions. Duties include, but are not limited to: timesheet approval in Workday, reconciliation of contractual and regular payrolls to Workday and CPB files, tabulation and review of various exception information that is used to verify accuracy of payrolls prepared. This position will assist the Fiscal Accounts Clerk Supervisor, who is responsible for timekeeping of all employees and reconciliation of overtime and who is responsible for tracking FMLA and leave bank usage for the agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:
- Experience with payroll/timekeeping
- Experience with Workday
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing overtime voucher reports and other timekeeping records and reports
- Experience with monitoring and tracking employee benefits such as FMLA, donated leave bank, parental leave, accident leave, etc.
