Main Purpose of Job
This is intermediate level work in rehabilitation services within the Office of Administration and Finance, Social Security Programs Unit of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS). The position reconciles agency accounting and fiscal control systems for the processing of third party payments. The position also develops and maintains spreadsheets and ledgers of payment, and produces reports on third party budgets.
POSITION DUTIES
Develop and maintain
fiscal records including spreadsheets, ledgers and budgetary reports in order
to provide analysis and support to Social Security Programs Unit for third
party billing, cost reimbursement, the SSA Ticket to Work Program, and
associated data and fiscal control systems in compliance with agency, state and
federal policies. Additionally, the position oversees third party
invoicing, processing of payments, and maintenance of client ledgers through
coordination with DORS consumers, field counselors, and WTC staff.
Further, the position provides support to the DORS accounting unit for the
processing of expense reports, bill payments and rent payments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
Notes:
1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience using the
State of MD Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
- Experience with a
client/case management system.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must
