Main Purpose of Job

The IT Assistant Director directs and manages the work of the IT Quality Assurance Specialists and IT Functional analysts. In this capacity, this position oversees the development of business requirements for all information technology and technical services, works closely with the business teams to identify needs, desired functionality and develops plans and priorities for projects. This position also develops quality assurance plans for information technology applications and services, works with business owners to make decisions as to major changes to technology or services, develops and maintains quality assurance standards and reports regularly on the quality assurance status of our systems and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 

Experience: 6 years of professional IT experience, preferably quality assurance or training experience: two prior years experience leading software testing working with multiple systems and experience developing and executing full lifecycle test plans for major software releases; two prior years experience developing system requirements through problem analysis, engagement of business staff and collaboration with developers; and two prior years experience developing training and end user documentation. 3 years of the above experience must have included managerial or supervisory experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  •  Experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
  •  Experience with JIRA for defect tracking and resolution.
  •  Experience with Maryland’s Child, Juvenile, and Adult Management System (CJAMS).  
  •  Experience developing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures.   
  • Experience in identifying and implementing changes to ensure continued compliance with     internal and external regulations, laws, and policies.
