Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
The incumbent will be responsible for
assisting the Facility Administrator with managing the overall day to day
operations of the juvenile facility. Ensuring safety and security are
maintained in the facility and that operations are in compliance with laws,
regulations, policies and procedures. This incumbent will be responsible
for coordinating staff development training programs, monitoring fiscal
business to comply with budgetary allotments, and inspect facilities and ensure
operational efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High
School diploma or G.E.D. certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of
Education as described in the Correctional Training Commission Regulation.
EXPERIENCE: Six
years of experience providing supervision and guidance to youths in a juvenile
facility or juvenile services community program for at-risk youth or working in
a correctional setting. Two years of this experience must have involved
exercising supervisory responsibility over other staff providing services to
youth.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who possess
a Bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice
from an accredited four year college or university.
