LOCATION OF POSITION

7800 Harkins Rd Lanham, MD 20706.

This position will work out of the Headquarters Office in Prince George's County located approximately ½ mile from the New Carrollton Metro stop

POSITION DUTIES

The Office of statewide Broadband has an immediate opening for an Administrator II. The position is solely responsible for the review and processing of grant/loan payments and assists with received grant application organization and review. The position must closely monitor and track funds that have been encumbered (approximately $200,000,000 in current projects) including the Broadband Infrastructure, Neighborhood Connect, Digital Equity and other program encumbrances. Compile financial reports that reflect the disbursement status of funding and provide reports to the Director along with any recommendations.

The position is responsible for tracking Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) and Agreements required for grant funding as well receiving all reports due by grantees. The position is also responsible for assisting with reporting due by the OSB. This reporting includes federal & state compliance reporting as well as fiscal reporting for the Agency. This position will also manage all CPC expenditures for the OSB.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. 

Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.  

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with financial tracking (i.e. budgeting, payment tracking, request for proposals)
  • Experience with Grant Management
  • Experience working with Broadband or other Service Utilities
  • Experience with Project Management

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
