MDH, Opioid Operational Command Center, 100 Community Place, Crownsville, MD

POSITION DUTIES

This position will primarily report to the Opioid Operational Command Center’s (OOCC) Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff. This position will conduct research and analyze overdose surveillance data. The incumbent will work closely with the Deputy Director on project management by drafting project plans that align with OOCC priority projects, coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings, draft agendas, post agendas to public forums, draft meeting minutes, and conduct research on emerging substance use trends. This position will support the Communications Director on report preparation and edits. This position will also provide general clerical and administrative support to OOCC staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience in data analysis, social media account management, experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred, but not required.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
