This position is emergency essential.

POSITION DUTIES

Maintains the trade components of HVAC at the Warfield Air Base at Martin State Airport. Can perform minor HVAC maintenance and repairs, and will assist senior HVAC technician.



Duties for this position include but are not limited to:


·       Assist Lead HVAC technician with all HVAC projects, maintenance, and moderate to major repairs. 

·       Work independently on minor HVAC repairs and assignments.

·       Assist with tracking work orders for all tasks using an automated tracking system. 

·       Assist in coordinating work with Third Party contracted HVAC projects, repairs and/or installations as directed by the Supervisor. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Eighth grade.

Experience: Two years of experience in the building maintenance or building construction trades including one year of experience assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1)Six months of experience working/assisting with HVAC systems or related trade, or enrolled in a Journeyman program for HVAC. 
2)One year experience completing work orders. 
3)Demonstrated willingness to be trained and learn new HVAC skills, as this position has the potential to move up the Maintenance Chief series until a Lead HVAC Technician (Maintenance Chief IV, Non Lic, grade 14).

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access military facilities within the state of Maryland.  Being able to access these facilities is a condition of employment for this position.
