Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor, (MDOL), Division of Unemployment Insurance is accepting applications from qualified candidates
for the position of UI Professional V-Supervisor. This recruitment will be used to fill
current and future vacancies. The resulting eligible list will be maintained
for one year after the closing date of the announcement.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to assist in executing the mission of the department of labor and achieving the agency’s goals. This position directs, provides daily guidance to assigned UI professionals I-IV on delegated tasks as well as settlement offers and complicated cases.
Assigns, reviews and approve bulk sales and other work of UI Professionals I –IV, trains UI Professionals I-IV. Completes review and determine which method of tax collection to deploy on a CASE-BY-CASE basis including, among other methods, writs of execution with the sheriff departments', bank account garnishments and wage garnishments.
Communicate with employers, attorneys,
accountants to discuss possible negotiation of payment agreements, settlements,
waivers and any other disputed issues.
Review daily updates for appropriate actions. Review and make
determination on which employer accounts are to be referred for Personal
Liability assessment. Review and make
determination on which employer accounts qualify for the annual corporate
charter forfeiture project. Review and
determine when accounts are paid i full to release liens. Review accounts for uncollectible
status. Maintain and compose monthly
statistical reports to unit Supervisor.
Review sign and submit charter block letters and removal block letters
to the State Department of Assessment and taxation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Eight years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program, or an insurance claims processing and fraud investigations program OR four years of experience in administrative staff or professional staff work and an additional four years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program, or an insurance claims processing and fraud investigations program .
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program, or an insurance claims processing and fraud investigations program OR four years of experience in administrative staff or professional staff work for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All candidates are subject to a background check against
files maintained by the Division of
Unemployment Insurance (Labor/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to Labor/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
