LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Plans, coordinates and directs one or more general services functions, such as, but not limited to: building, housekeeping, grounds keeping services; risk management; fleet management; forms management; mail/courier services; inventory, purchasing and supplies; clerical services; receptionist/switchboard; records management; reproduction services; security service; space allocations; and telecommunications;
Inspects assigned areas to ensure work is performed in accordance with instructions and that any adjustments that may be necessary are made;
Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures within assigned areas of responsibility;
Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to supplies, necessary repairs and equipment;
Estimates needs and requisitions supplies and equipment;
May supervise the work of clerical, skilled or semi-skilled employees performing various general services activities;
May serve as an assistant to an Agency Buyer responsible for agency or facility procurement services;
Performs other related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as stated above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1. One year of experience with fleet management.
2. One year of experience dealing with the disposal and inventory control of property at any governmental level.
3. One year experience with database programs and spreadsheets utilizing Microsoft.
4. One year experience handling sensitive materials/documents.
5. Lifting of 50lbs or more (boxes, equipment, etc.)

EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. You may be asked to complete a supplemental questionnaire. The supplemental questionnaire may be used as part of the rating process. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.
For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
