Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Epidemiology Team Manager for the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control. This position provides direction and guidance on all epidemiology and program evaluation efforts to the Director and Deputy Director of the Center. S/he leads and oversees a wide range of strategic planning, surveillance, and evaluation activities related to statewide cancer prevention and control initiatives. This position oversees a team of eight staff, including supervision of four direct reports: Maryland Cancer Registry Program Manager, Surveillance and Evaluation Unit Program Manager, Senior Epidemiologist, and Database Specialist. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and at least 6 years of professional experience in public health or health services, including at least 3 years of experience in epidemiology, statistics and/or program evaluation.  At least 3 years of experience must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.  Proficiency in SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) is required.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
