Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to provide ongoing supervision and direct the work of the Worcester County Health Departments Coordination of Community Services program. This position will include evaluation of case records and staff performance through regularly scheduled conferences for the purpose of determining professional performance and the results accomplished. This position will act as a mentor providing advice and guidance to lower-level coordinators and interns. This position will also evaluate and review case situations, interventions and case information of staff working with clients, families, and community providers. In addition, this position will determine if a crisis situation exists, and if it does, immediately initiate the appropriate intervention techniques. The selected applicant must be able to work and travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience:  Three years of professional experience in health services, two years must have been professional clinical or administrative work in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care   Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience:
  • Providing ongoing supervision and directing the work of case management programs, this includes evaluation of case records and staff performance; 
  • Planning and conducting studies or surveys, monitoring Medicaid waiver services and initiating investigations related to specific program services; 
  • Developing procedures for improvement of services, coordination, expansion of existing services and development of new services.
