Main Purpose of Job

This position will plan and organize evaluation, monitoring, and analysis of community systems of care for programs requesting recognition and eligibility as a Behavioral Health Administration (BHA)-designated Evidence Based Practice (EBP) program. The position will plan and organize on site visits for the purposes of auditing BHA regulated programs and individual practitioners that include organizations and licensed mental health professionals receiving funds through the Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS) to assure that services are provided according to state and federal requirements and standards of practice and to make recommendations that include need for improvement, may impact enhanced rates for eligible programs and retraction of funds for compliance related issues. This position is critical to BHA to assure that quality services are provided to Maryland citizens, that programs and services include continuous quality improvement measures and public funds are spent according to state and federal requirements. This position requires travel throughout the State of Maryland.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Three years of professional experience in health services, two years must have been in the Mental Health option.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or      human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the Mental Health option must be as follows: professional work related to treatment and services for mentally ill patients.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services for the required.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience within the Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS) and experience working with an Assertive Community Treatment or Supported Employment Team. Clinical credentials are also desired (i.e. LMSW, LCSW).
