Main Purpose of Job

This position, serving as the Director, Population Health Management, will lead the Department’s efforts under the Total Population Health domain of Statewide Integration Health Improvement Strategy (SIHIS)—specifically in diabetes, opioid use and maternal and child health. SIHIS is a cornerstone initiative under Maryland’s Total Cost of Care Model, which serves as a foundation of health system transformation activities in Maryland. This position will manage and provide accountability to various workstreams of SIHIS implementation, including oversight of activities under the three aforementioned population health goal areas; coordinating the Population Health Management Group, which consists of public and private subject matter experts; and engaging with other states agencies and external stakeholders, among other activities. This position will centralize SIHIS population health program management activities to maximize impact. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, public administration, health administration or closely related field.  Candidates must also possess at least 5 years combined professional experience in population health work and public health programming, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the following:
  • Knowledge of population health and public health programming; 
  • Experience with establishing timelines and accountability measures for work completed by internal and external partners; 
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement including coordinating advisory groups;
  • Experience serving as a liaison between internal partners, stakeholders, and agency leadership.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
