Main Purpose of Job

This Physician will primarily provide medical management for patients who seek care in the TB Health, Adolescent and Immunization Clinics and will provide back up support to other clinical programs as needed. This position will also provide consultation for general medical inquires as needed within the Agency. These services tie directly to the mission of the Health Department which is to protect the public’s health, assure access to quality health care and to promote individual and community responsibility for the prevention of disease and disability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a degree in Medicine from an accredited college or university.

Experience: As required for certification in an area of medical specialization by an American Medical Association Specialty Board.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Applicants must be certified by an American Medical Association Specialty Board in an area of medical specialization.

2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license or license number must accompany your application.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
