Introduction

The Maryland Public Service Commission seeks an Assistant Director in the Telecommunications, Gas, and Water Division.  This position monitors the investor-owned telecommunications, gas, and water industries in Maryland.  Responsibilities include assisting in the coordination and supervision of activities for Division matters, and the supervision of a small professional staff.  Duties include the preparation of highly technical studies and reports for the Commission, other State agencies, and the General Assembly, and delivery of expert testimony at public hearings.

This is an “at will” position which serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority (the “Commission”).

Main Purpose of Job

This position monitors the investor-owned telecommunications, gas, and water industries in Maryland. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A graduate level degree from an accredited college or university in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Accounting or a related discipline.

Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
