Introduction

The Shared Services Division of the Department of Budget and Management, Office of Personnel Services and Benefits is seeking an entry level Integrations Analyst, with strong general knowledge in systems integrations.  The successful candidate will monitor the existing Statewide Personnel System (SPS) integrations and develop new custom integrations as required.

POSITION DUTIES

This entry level position will support the Shared Services integrations on the Integrations Team.  This support includes the integration for JobAps, the Hub (learning management system), and Workday (HR, Payroll and Benefit related integrations) systems.  This position will be responsible for providing support in the design, development, testing, implementing and maintaining the integrations for these systems in coordination with the Division support staff for each system.  This position will also provide information to users and vendors to resolve issues.  This position must be available for some evening and weekend work schedules as part of the Team.

The position will start as an HRIS Analyst I DBM, Grade 17 and will reach full performance at Grade 20, with additional growth opportunities beyond full performance.  Training in Workday integrations and studio will be provided based on need.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, Psychology or another related field.

 

Experience:   One year of experience in resolving customers’ inquiries, requests or system problems such as researching issues, analyzing data, interpreting information; providing direction, guidance and instruction or processing data change requests using an internal automated system; or one year of experience in data integration and data consolidation, programming design, custom built inbound/outbound integrations and automation scripts, design and develop reports on SQL based platforms (SSI and SSAS), including experience with programming in Visual Basic/JavaScript; or one year of experience with human resources, benefits or Timekeeping/Payroll integrations; or one year experience with XML development and working knowledge of XSLT and HTML; or three years of experience in utilizing human resource information systems (HRIS) to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data for use in managing functions such as human resources, pension, benefits, payroll or time and attendance.

 

Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional specific experience as listed above on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education. Experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications housed on mainframe or client server platforms may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability in designing/developing SQL procedures and reports on SQL based platforms (SSIS and SSAS), including experience with programming in Visual Basic.net/Java Script;

Previous experience with system integrations (HR/Benefits/any database) is preferred; 

Must demonstrate knowledge of critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to debug existing source code and quickly learn new systems when required.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification are required to obtain certification in State Personnel Management System policies and procedures and in the functionality of the Statewide Personnel System from the Office of Personnel Services and Benefits, Department of Budget and Management within six months from the time of appointment to the position.  Employees are also required to obtain recertification every six months thereafter.


Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
