POSITION DUTIES

Provide fiscal analysis and support to the Social Security Programs Unit for Third Party billing, cost reimbursement, SSA ticket to Work Program, and with associated data and fiscal control systems in compliance with agency, state, and federal policies. Provide support to the staff expense report process and other accounting processes.

Provide support to the staff expense report process and other accounting processes. Identify DORS consumers who have third party payments, verify payer, provide outreach and payment agreement. The position will be charged with tracking and documenting all accounts and submitting for refunds and referrals to central collection on overdue accounts. Assist with Social Security cost reimbursement efforts, analyze and enter consumer information into data systems for further review. Resolve inaccurate Ticket assignments with EN partners, explain and provide support for staff with shared Tickets. Assist with processing of staff expense reports, and monthly rent/lease payments for field offices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:

Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.

Notes:

  • Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
  • Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. 

  • Experience with using an electronic case management software program.  
  • Experience with Microsoft EXCEL and Word.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Individual must possess or be willing to obtain Federal Suitability Clearance through the Center for Suitability and Personnel Security (CSPS) of the Social Security Administration's Personnel Security and Suitability Program (PSSP).  This clearance includes FBI background and credit checks needed to obtain access to database systems essential to this position.
