Main Purpose of Job

This position will function as a telephone triage agent for various 800 toll-free helplines for the HealthChoice and Acute Care Administration under the Division of Community Liaison and Care Coordination. This position will provide customer service to recipients and providers through education about Medicaid system access and navigation by reviewing State and Federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to various Medicaid programs including, but not limited to HealthChoice, Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) and the Family Planning program and problem resolution related to care access. The position will also conduct an assessment to determine if the call is an Inquiry versus Complaint and document the call in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Notes: 1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have telephonic customer service experience, good verbal and written communications skills, basic keyboard/typing skills, and ability to organize and complete work tasks efficiently and timely.
