POSITION DUTIES

The incumbent in this position will serve as the front desk security officer in a healthcare facility located in the lobby of the Multi-Services Building. This position will provide clerical support and safety support to the facility. The position will be under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer. The incumbent will need to have knowledge in security safety, procedures and protocol to provide safety, protection and security for the customer, equipment, and physical plant. In addition, the incumbent will need to provide some clerical support as directed such as answering phones, making overhead announcements on PA system, sorting mail, interacting with public. The incumbent must be able to multi-task in a very busy environment.

  • Serve as the front desk security officer
  • Provide clerical support
  • Answer multi-line phone
  • Use the facility's intercom system in order to page staff and call codes when necessary
  • Sort mail
  • use the raptor system in order to scan ID's and create visitor passes
  • Use knowledge in security safety in order to provide safety, protection and security for the facility

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Ability to read and write.

Experience: Two years of experience in building security work.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Master-At-Arms classifications or law enforcement specialty codes in the site security field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have experience with answering phones, using an intercom system and sorting mail.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached.

2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
