Main Purpose of Job

Marketing administrator of the Lottery’s player loyalty club, My Lottery Rewards. Responsible for developing strategies and implementing tactics to expand membership and increase participation in the program, while staying within funding parameters. This program is a key part of the Lottery’s marketing strategy by providing added value to participants

POSITION DUTIES

Manager of Lottery’s player loyalty club program (My Lottery Rewards), responsible for developing strategies and making recommendations to Director of Creative Services about tactics to increase membership and encourage player engagement while staying within funding parameters. Club currently has about 240,000 verified members and an annual promotion budget of approximately $4 million. Specific duties include promotion/achievement development, scheduling and implementation; developing recommendations for second chance drawing promotions and coordinating implementation with vendor; and developing policies, procedures and customer service recommendations to ensure a secure and efficient operation. Individual acts as key point of contact for Scientific Games (SG), the Lottery’s vendor for this loyalty club program and is an active participant in weekly status and quarterly update meetings.

Develops recommendations for improvements/upgrades to overall program, as well as the My Lottery Rewards website and mobile application that facilitate the online club Works with key managers to develop, write and seek approval for rules/procedures for second chance contests, Rewards Club drawings (PFD’s) and other game promotions. Develops and distributes promotional overview forms for various MLR efforts and coordinates comments/approvals. Also coordinates changes for Terms of Use and My Lottery Rewards Official Rules, which are displayed on various Lottery websites.

Works with SG to develop an editorial calendar for various outbound emails and mobile push notifications with the goal of communicating important information to members and increasing their engagement with the My Lottery Rewards program. Advises on strategy, writes copy, coordinates creation and implementation of graphics and reports results of efforts to key managers. 

Works with SG to develop and implement recommendations for free play and discount coupon deployment to club members and prospects while staying within funding parameters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Marketing project management experience working on a loyalty club program for a brand or retailer.
  • Experience working on an outbound communication program (i.e., emails, push notifications, etc.) designed to increase engagement.
  • Experience developing recommendations for promotions and monitoring activity to stay within defined budget parameters.
  • Experience providing direction and approval of graphics and/or promotional materials.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
