POSITION DUTIES

This position serves as an AWARE Case Manager for the Division of Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation Technology Services Program specializing in the coordination of services for individuals with disabilities that when applied, promote the employment, economic self-sufficiency, and/or independence of individuals with disabilities. Coordination of services for individuals with disabilities must adhere to federal and state laws and regulations, and Division and department policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for providing all administrative and secretarial services to the department to support service provision

Provide AWARE case management of consumer referrals to the department to include gathering of referral documentation and medical records, scheduling appointments, and arranging for accommodations needed for service delivery. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to include preparing meeting agendas and taking meeting minutes. Prepare typed and accessible documents and spreadsheets to support department operations.  Maintain important and confidential files and records electronically.  Review vendor reports for submission into AWARE and process invoices for payment.  Manage the RTS equipment and device physical inventories and electronic database.  Maintain documentation and prepare material related to department credit card expenditures according to Division and State policies and guidelines. Communicate department and Division policies and procedures for the purposes of transmitting service information to referral sources, the public, and consumers. Perform routine typing, copying, faxing, Xeroxing, and ordering of supplies for the department.  This position requires use of a variety of computer software applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EducationGraduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

ExperienceFour years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

  • Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
