Main Purpose of Job

This is a contractual position responsible for providing administrative and office support to the Maryland Mental Health Initiative Project Director and crisis response and clinical support team specialists to enhance and facilitate the operation, maintenance, and supervision of the Maryland Mental Health Initiative within the Division of Student Support, Academic Enrichment, and Educational Policy.

POSITION DUTIES

Maintains appointments and daily schedules for the Project Director and crisis response and clinical support team Members to organize daily activities, inform team members and other staff, and ensure consistent workflow and coverage;  organizes and maintains master files, developing and maintaining systems to manage fiscal processes, requisitions, contracts,  bids, orders for supplies, materials, and services; plans large and small group meetings and workshops; manages activities coordinated by the Project Director, including meetings, briefing materials, and master files for all such meetings; creates and tracks requisitions in the FMIS system; maintains and monitors the budget for the Initiative and creates fiscal reports; monitors and tracks all fiscal matters for the Initiative; fields requests for assistance from local school systems and routes the requests to the Project Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university. 

Experience: Two years of experience in administrative or professional work. 

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above at the rate of one year experience for 30 credit hours of education for up to 60 credit hours of the required education. 

2. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required education and experience. 

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
