Main Purpose of Job

The mission of the Social Services Administration is to aggressively pursue opportunities to assist people in economic need, provide prevention services, and protect vulnerable children and adults. The main purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance, training, guidance, policy development, and support to the Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS), providers, and sister agencies to ensure the vulnerable children are protected and also services are delivered to children in foster care placements that lead to stability, well-being and permanency.

This position also oversees two funding areas: 1) the Mental Health Stabilization Services (MHSS) funding, and 2) the Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) federal funding. This position would lead the efforts required by these funding sources to demonstrate that the proper oversight and outcomes reporting has been completed. 

This position approves voluntary placements (VPA) referred by the LDSS, and One-on-One (1:1) supervision needs for children in care ensuring all requirements of the VPA and the One-on-One policy have been followed. 

This position recommends practice and policy changes related to permanency practices for foster children. 

This position oversees related continued quality improvement strategies and is responsible for reporting these efforts on state and federal reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (AND SELECTIVE; see next section) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.


NOTES:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at may be substituted the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Candidates must possess two years of experience in Child Welfare.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Two years of experience as a project lead for a Child Welfare program. 
Two years of experience monitoring a budget for a human service program.
One year of experience in Out-of-Home Placement.
