This is a Position Specific Recruitment for the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, Office of Human Resources. The resulting eligible list will be used for this position only. POSITION DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to perform a wide degree of personnel related tasks to support Office of Human Resources within the Department of Assessments & Taxation.

 

Maintains all documented and undocumented reports. Performs quality review of all forms and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Provides a variety of statistical reports, as requested. Also functions as the customer service representative and coordinator for the department on all issues concerning the sick leave guidelines and process.

 

Initiator for processing transactions as requested on the Personnel Action Requests Forms (PARs). Maintain Workday by running reports and performing Workday Clean-Up transactions. Monitor all onboarding transaction to ensure new hires are completing all necessary requirements for onboarding.

 

Prepare employee handbook for orientation. Conduct and assist with the orientation process. Create personnel files and blue cards for all new hires. Review all new hires paperwork for accuracy. Maintain and update new hire report for EEO audits.

 

Maintain and distribute incoming emails to the appropriate HR staff.

 

Serves as the timekeeper for assigned departments; Establishes and maintains all timesheets and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness; Provides a variety of statistical reports, as requested.

 

Represent the agency with competence and efficiency when dealing with Health Benefits, healthcare providers and employees. Performs quality review of all health forms for accuracy and completeness. Provides guidance and informs employees on selection of Health Benefits. Calculates Retroactive Adjustments. Acts as the liaison between employees and Health Benefits. Run reports from Workday concerning any health benefits events.

 

Functions as the coordinator for the Performance Evaluation Planning Program (PEP) and endures compliance with regulations. Submits notification to managers, and supervisors regarding initial, mid and annual evaluations. All evaluations that result in needs improvement and overall unsatisfactory are brought to the HR Director attention.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of general clerical or administrative support experience at least one year of which must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of public sector procedures, policies, rules and regulations to specific employment actions. Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions.

Note: One additional year of paraprofessional personnel experience as defined above may be substituted for one year of general clerical or administrative support experience.

1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with processing transactions in Workday
Timekeeping experience in Workday 
Experience as a Health Benefits Coordinator 
Experience as a Retirement Coordinator 
Experience with FMLA and Leave Bank forms.
