Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for all work procuring equipment, services, supplies, information technology, and other needs, which must be obtained through the competitive or negotiated procurement process. Incumbent is responsible for soliciting, evaluating, negotiating and awarding contracts, according to State Procurement laws, procedures and regulations, as well as maintaining contracts by ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience performing work involving the preparation, assembly, and processing of procurement related documents necessary in developing procurement contracts.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute education at an accredited college or university for the required experience at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Contracting and Industrial Management classifications or specialty codes in the Procurement field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. One year of procurement experience in a state agency.

2. One year of experience working with the statewide Financial Management Information System (FMIS) ADPICS.

3. One year experience creating direct purchase orders, blanket purchase orders and change orders.

4. Six months experience processing procurement requests utilizing the E-Maryland Marketplace.


LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must be willing to accept employment in Dorchester County.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
