Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position, serving as the Director of Residential Programs, is to manage and supervise the Kent County 24/7 Residential Addictions Program.  The Residential Addictions Program is part of a 24/7 facility.  Job duties include:  Staff supervision and development; Emergency Preparedness activities; Preparing budgets and grant requests as needed to maintain program operations; and, Developing, fostering and maintaining appropriate relationships with other agencies and individuals including the criminal justice system, hospitals, physicians, employers, social service agencies and other county heath departments. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 6 years of health or human services professional experience, including 4 of which must have been in professional work related to treatment and services to persons with alcohol or other substance addiction, and 3 of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

A master's degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  A doctorate will substitute for 2 years general experience.  Additional experience may substitute year-for-year for the college degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will possess:

  • Good leadership skills
  • Experience in preparing large budgets and grants
  • Experience in Supervising 100 or more employees
  • Exceptional communication skills

Candidates must also be available 24/7 for the Residential Addictions Program.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
