POSITION DUTIES

This position is the full performance level responsible for carrying out the fiscal operations as administered by the Child Support Enforcement Division of DHS in an accurate, timely and professional manner adhering to Federal, State and local regulations. This position reviews, controls, records and balances financial transactions in accordance with prescribed procedures utilizing the Child Support Enforcement System (CSES), CARES, and LTR. This position also is responsible for investigating and analyzing child support cases, interpreting court orders, preparing audits, examining various escrow balances, adjusting account information and balances. This position reconciles daily financial transactions, extracts data from accounting systems and summarizes financial information for reports utilizing personal computer spreadsheets in support of the entire Child Support Division to ensure enforcement of timely collections of regular payments. This position has full supervisory responsibility for lower-level Fiscal Accounts Technicians and relates support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.

Notes:

1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1.  One year of supervisory experience.

2.  One year of experience using Excel to create spreadsheets.

3.  One year of experiences using Microsoft Word Computer Software.
