Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as the Data Security Analyst
for the Division of Early Childhood data systems and is responsible for
assuring that system roles are functioning as defined in the data system
security matrix and for reviewing all data system security applications and
records to ensure compliance with security roles. This position provides desktop and software
application support for end users.
POSITION DUTIES
Monitors data content and access and maintains
copies of all applications and logs recording all data regarding applicant,
contact information and location; Generates and submits reports to the Lead IT
Functional Analyst; assists the Lead IT Functional Analyst in conducting
monthly tests of security role functionality; analyzes and recommends
modifications and assists technical programmer analysts in the design,
development and testing of the data application system and with corrections or
enhancements; diagnoses and corrects problems with computers hardware and
software; reviews error codes and
determines the appropriate correction; assists with setting up hardware and
installing all needed software for End Users.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public
Administration, Human Resources Management, Information Technology or other
related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated
information systems.
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience providing problem analysis and
ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and
training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide
systems housed on mainframe computers or large client server platforms.

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and two additional years of experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide systems housed on mainframe or large client server platforms may be substituted for the required education.

Experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.

Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience with data system
oversight.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Hardware / Software help desktop support
Skill in end user training on the functionality of
applications
Knowledge of the principals and practices of systems
analysis and design
Knowledge of data systems
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Proof of eligibility to work in compliance with
the Immigration Reform and Control Act and travel
throughout the state are required.
