Main Purpose of Job

This position supports and maintains the case management system for the employees of the OAG in the central administrative offices in Baltimore as well as offices in Annapolis, Salisbury, Largo and Hagerstown.

POSITION DUTIES

Duties include but are not limited to: downloading eDiscovery from USB drives, various websites, and/or file sharing locations; preparing eDiscovery to be loaded into document & review analysis platforms; creating and setting up databases and grant users permission to the databases within; training users on how to use document & review analysis platforms; creating productions from document & review analysis platforms for users as needed for trial or as requested by opposing counsel; facilitating WebEx or other web-based hosting of presentations, including integrating documents provided through eDiscovery. This position will also be providing Helpdesk support for general requests, troubleshooting desktop and laptop issues, providing printer and copier support requests, toner replacement as well as Project Management of our new Case Management System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related field to include course work in database management systems.

Experience: One year of experience designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and controlling database management systems for computers.

Notes:

1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate plus thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology-related field to include course work in database management systems may be substituted for the required education.

2. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one additional year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems for computers may be substituted for the required education.

3. Experience operating computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on computer systems; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school education on a year-for-year basis.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Database Administration classifications or Database Administration specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with the principles and practices of designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and controlling database management systems for computers

2. Skill in using diagnostic and performance tools and other software products to maintain established standards for database management systems;

3. Experience with document and review analysis platforms desired.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached or will be furnished with a pager.
