Main Purpose of Job

Responsible for conducting interviews with persons seeking employment and for providing assistance to employers needing qualified personnel to fill vacancies. Work with employers and job seekers to address their employment needs by providing the highest level of services that will support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides services to job seekers to expedite their entry into employment by:

Interviewing job seekers to assess skills and needs using the automated system to complete, review and update customer registration; Conducting orientations for job seekers to provide an overview of available services; Identifying potential job matches of job seeker skills with job qualifications; Referring qualified job seekers to job openings by utilizing the automated system; Assisting customers by demonstrating the usage of self-service resources; Developing job openings by making promotional telephone calls to market job seeker skills; Sharing labor market information with customers to enable informed decisions on labor trends and economic conditions by using appropriate resource materials and automated systems;         Referring job seekers to training and/or supportive services to improve their job readiness by utilizing community, training and educational resources.

Provides services to businesses to fill their personnel needs by:

Referring qualified job seekers to job openings utilizing the automated system to identify potential job matches of job seeker skills with job qualifications to fill business staffing needs; Inputting job orders into the automated system according to employer specifications; Verifying job order status by telephone, fax, or other means, and updating jobs order in the automated system; Providing labor market information to customers to enable informed decisions on labor trends and economic conditions by using appropriate resource materials and automated systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in the field of workforce development, taking job orders, conducting job-ready interviews, registering job applicants, verifying job referrals, conducting vocational placements, performing unemployment adjudications, or appraising job applicants for employability.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute education at an accredited college or university, at the rate of thirty credit hours for each year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute active duty military recruiting experience or career counseling experience on a year-by-year basis for the required education.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Two years of customer service experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Bilingual communication skills.

Case management experience.
