Main Purpose of Job
The Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control (CCDPC) is responsible for directing the dynamic team for a broad portfolio of projects that facilitate healthy lifestyles for Marylanders, with a focus on diabetes, heart disease, and stroke prevention, disabilities inclusion, and cognitive health programming. The Implementation Team Chief will oversee and coordinate operations of multiple grants, and be the lead on at least one federal grant within the Center. The Implementation Team Chief will actively seek grant opportunities, and lead the grant writing teams for grant submissions. The Implementation Team Chief will have expertise in grant writing and management, as well as procurement, and budget development and oversight. The Implementation Team Chief will also oversee all procurement activities in CCDPC, guiding staff and monitoring procurement actions for CCDPC. The Implementation Team Chief will participate in the writing of all grant submissions and applications for CCDPC. The Implementation Team Chief will evaluate efficiency within the grant and procurement processes in CCDPC, and will make recommendations to the Director on new policies, standards, and workflow procedures. The incumbent will assure staff properly manage contracts with external partners. This position is located in the Maryland Department of Health, Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, six (6) years of professional health or human services experience and 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desired candidates should possess at least 3 years of grant management experience, including successful grant submissions, and at least 3 years of organizational processes oversight.
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A copy of your resume must accompany your application.
