Main Purpose of Job

This position will work within the Office of Population Health Improvement's (OPHI) Community Health Worker (CHW) certification program. This position will support the OPHI's Director of Workforce Development with providing senior level policy development and analysis and coordination of assigned programs. Duties include the development, implementation, evaluation, analysis, and coordination for the CHW certification program and other workforce development projects; analysis of data and proposed policy; research and report preparation; ensure compliance standards are met that are required by statute, regulations, policies, and administrative directions. This position will also represent OPHI and work closely with other areas within the department, other state agencies, external organizations, and community stakeholders to achieve the mission of the office and department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Three years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in the option for which application is made.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional clinical or administrative work in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have:

- knowledge of Statewide agencies, facilities and community organizations

- experience in public health policy work and contract and budget management

- experience managing multiple projects with firm deadlines
