Maryland Correctional Enterprises is recruiting for a Part - Time Business Development Coordinator (contractual) for the MCE Continuing Allocation of Re-Entry Services (CARES) program. Flexible work schedule - 10 hours a week.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to work both inside correctional facilities, as well as within various communities stateside to assist individuals transitioning through the criminal justice system to find meaningful employment that will increase an individual's confidence and reduce recidivism. The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for the day to day delivery of direct services to participants in Maryland Correctional Enterprises CARES re-entry program. As such, the position will train, coach and support participants through an employment readiness component and assist in successfully securing permanent stable employment. The Business Development Coordinator will lead efforts to establish relationships with employers and facilitate interviews and job placements of program participants by promoting the participants positive employment traits gained through their employment as an MCE inmate worker and participating in the MCE CARES program. He or she will meet with employers on a regular basis to maintain relationships for employment purposes. To expand the employment opportunities available to participants, the Business Development Coordinator will work with local employers, government, and education/training partners to gain an understanding of requirements for entry level jobs and potentially available placements.

POSITION DUTIES

•Institute an interactive Employee Readiness Program, focusing on increasing participant employability skills by addressing and identifying internal barriers that have once prevented positive change.

•Build and maintain relationships with program participants and potential business partners to promote a climate that facilitates continued partnerships for the MCE Continuing Allocation of Reentry Services (CARES) program.

•Assist with the preparation of presentations and reports to potential and current business partners.

•Utilize online and other resources to conduct research on potential business partners and prepare written documents as required.

•Maintain the tracking system for Business Development partners and prepare relevant documents and presentations for use by Director of Reentry Services.

•Manage data accuracy and integrity and keep records current on prospect pipeline status for both quarterly and annual reporting purposes.

•Maintain records of resource development and track activities throughout the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One(1) year of professional experience providing workforce development.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1- Experience conducting interviews, verifying job referrals, conducting vocational placements, or appraising persons seeking employment.

2- Experience providing assistance to employers needing qualified personnel to fill vacancies

3- Experience working with underserved population is highly preferred.

4- Experience delivering formal presentations to large groups is highly preferred.

5- Must be computer literate, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Office Suite.
