Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Director, Motor Vehicle Division, Maryland State Police, and reports directly to the Logistics Command. The Director is responsible for the overall management of Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) and Non-PPV fleet sustainability, operations, maintenance, and compliance for the Department of State Police and the Office of the State Fire Marshal, in a fiscally responsible manner. The Director will oversee the responsibilities of the Deputy Director of the Motor Vehicle Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of professional administrative experience to include motor vehicle fleet management, maintenance and procurement.

NOTE: Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for this position will be subject to a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before permanent appointment can be made.  A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the applicant.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be included for further evaluation.  The evaluation will include rating your application based on education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position.  It is essential, therefore, that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.  Qualified candidates will be placed on an eligible list which will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy.  The list will be valid for one year.
