Introduction
The Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). OAH provides due process for any person or business affected by the action or proposed action of State agencies. ALJs conduct fair and timely hearings in contested cases for over 30 State agencies involving 200 difference programs with over 500 hearing types. OAH's headquarters is in Hunt Valley, Maryland, but the majority of cases are heard throughout the State for the convenience of citizens and businesses.

11101 Gilroy Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21031 (with extensive travel around the State required)
Main Purpose of Job
An Administrative Law Judge conducts formal contested case administrative hearings and prepares recommended or final decisions pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act and other laws and regulations.
POSITION DUTIES
To prepare for, hold hearings and issue both written and bench decisions for a variety of administrative cases for the State of Maryland.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be a lawyer in good standing for at least five
years and licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should possess excellent writing, legal research, computer and time management skills.
