MDH, Office of Information Technology, Infrastructure/Network Division, Baltimore, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide a managerial level of direction for multiple information technology activities and staffs within the Infrastructure/Network Division (IND). This position will also assist the IND Director in areas, including systems analysis; technical support; networks; information services; technical staff support; storage area networks; network security; virtual infrastructures, and others, as identified by the Director, in order to support the Maryland Department of Health's mission and operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related field to include course work in database management systems and at least 5 year of experience planning, integrating, and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks. 

Candidates should also possess:

  • Prior code-writing experience.
  • Strong technical skills including word processing, spreadsheet development and management, and database management, with a particular emphasis on proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with particular experience reviewing and editing documents.
