Introduction
This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS). The resulting eligible list will be used to fill current and future permanent and contractual recruitments for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS). Applicants certified to this list will remain eligible for one year.

POSITION DUTIES
- Fingerprint customers by live scan or link method
- Perform intermediate level of fingerprint work by examining, classifying, and performing the 1st stage fingerprint matching verification process in the “MAFIS Lights Out” and the 2nd stag Quality Assurance review of fingerprint verification under Moderate Supervision.
- Responsible for searching Ident/Index, MD Raps, TIME (FBI) Archive Web (Cogent) and the court system for requested criminal charges in order to flag charges to be expunged. Request the removal of Master fingerprint cards from the Master SID File
- Performs research and analysis of fingerprint card submissions from criminal, non-criminal and private provider agencies and to conduct audits of those same agencies. This includes but is not limited to using various databases and research tools available to conduct such research; to accomplish assigned tasks on time, accurately and completely; and to record the results of that research on various spreadsheets; and to write clear and concise audit reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience performing general office work using computers or one year of experience in classifying, filing and retrieving fingerprints.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in fingerprint identification classification or fingerprint identification specialty codes in the fingerprint identification field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

- Experience examining, classifying, and performing the 1st stage of fingerprint identifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates for this classification are subject to a criminal records check before a permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction record may be grounds for rejection of the applicant by the hiring agency.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency a telephone number where they can by reached.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. BENEFITS
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
